At Yeshua’s House, we’re learning. And though our goal is to obey rightly in all aspects of our Abba’s torah (rightly applied, in the same way and with the same heart as our beloved Messiah), the truth is we’re flawed people – all of us. But there are two facets of obedience where we refuse to fail – loving Yahweh with all our being, and loving our neighbor. To that end, at YH we prize modeling obedience above critiquing others’ obedience. In fact, we believe the best way to win someone over isn’t by pointing fingers, showing others the “right way,” but rather by being so full of joy and grace that those around us will want to do what we’re doing because they see and feel life in what we’re doing.

As I (Traver) studied Metzora (Parashah 86) not long ago, I read something by Tim Hegg that rang true. It applies to all who seek to obey Yahweh via Yah’s commandments. And indeed, it applies to our Sukkot observance.

Now if we have this perspective well in mind, our striving to “get it right” when it comes to halachah will be done in a spirit of patience and forbearance, not with the goal of “winning” the argument. If my ultimate purpose in walking right is to be pleasing to the Lord, then it is clear that I will be careful how I treat my brother in the pursuit of proper halachah. Please do not misunderstand what I am saying here. I do not mean to imply that loving my brother means I must compromise my convictions of what is right or wrong in order to please him. But it does mean that in my striving to do what is right, I do all in my power to bring my brother along with me, not leave him “in the dust” or abandon him because he does not agree with my understanding of this matter or that. Once again, if my focus is on pleasing the Lord, then I will strive to have the same perspective Yeshua had in halachic issues. He did not abandon a compassion for His neighbor in the midst of His separated and holy life. If anything, He demonstrated a deep compassion for those who were erring, and sought ways to call them to repentance and to holy living. In His walk He showed forth true humility and meekness – a willingness to be diminished in the eyes of the prominent in order to show patience and love to the lowly who were seeking the truth. What is more, He had all His halachah right!

At YH, we have a policy. Obey gracefully. See to it that your life is a sweet-smelling aroma to our Savior and Master. With a circumcised heart, don’t walk in the letter of the Law, but rather keep Abba’s Law with all love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. For guess what?! Against such things there is no law!

Therefore, brothers and sisters, in view of Yahweh’s mercy, let us enjoy Sukkot together, and please, by all means, obey to the fullest! Be, as it were, an olah offering! But whatever that looks like for you, also inspire, love, and be gracious with others as you do it. No critiquing. No sour talk of any kind, whether in public or private. If you can’t do that (or suspect you can’t), please don’t register. But if you can sing with us, smile with us, serve with us, and rejoice with us as we rehearse the coming of our Bridegroom and the Marriage Super of the Lamb, then come on! We can’t wait to worship the God of all creation with you!

Welcome to the Yeshua’s House Sukkot page (Feast of Tabernacles). We’re a new fellowship in the South Placer area and this is our first attempt at hosting a weeklong “rehearsal” as we, alongside our brothers and sisters in Messiah worldwide, anticipate the coming of our Savior, Bridegroom, and King. At first, we hoped to do a full week. But as we prayed and assessed, the elders of our small congregation felt it best to camp shorter and better. This year is our trial run, and you’re certainly welcome to trial-run with us. And if all goes well, perhaps we’ll increase the number of days next year.

Regardless, because we use a sighted-moon calendar, structuring our Sukkot observance this way affords us a little wiggle room on the exact day. This year, the first day of Sukkot is slated to fall on either Oct 8 or 9 depending on when the new moon is sighted. For practical purposes (e.g., scheduling days off), however, we’re planning on Day 1 of Sukkot beginning at sundown on Oct 7. If Yeshua’s House is your home followship, after our time on the mountain, we’ll continue our Sukkot celebration on Saturday, Oct 11 (the weekly sabbath) and end on the 8th Day (Shemini Atzeret) on Wednesday, Oct 15 at Humberto Dueñas’s parents’ home (Roseville area).

Meeting Areas

Forward Bible Camp offers several indoor and outdoor meeting spaces to accommodate various group sizes. Their chapel seats up to 120 people and is equipped with heating, air conditioning, and audio-visual capabilities. For outdoor gatherings, they have a fire circle that also accommodates up to 120. Their indoor dining area seats 50, and the outdoor dining area can seat 120. Additionally, the Harmony House provides a meeting space for smaller groups of up to 20 people.

Trails

Forward Bible Camp’s location is directly across the street from extensive trail systems perfect for hiking and biking, offering numerous scenic views. A notable option is the 2.5-mile (one way) hike to the summit of Bald Mountain, which provides clear-day vistas of Folsom Lake and Mount Diablo (sorry about the name, but that’s what it’s called).

Guns and Target Shooting

For the safety of all guests, all weapons and ammunition must remain locked in vehicles while on Forward Bible Camp property. We can provide information on nearby shooting ranges.

Brian Mohika

We’re happy our brother in Yeshua, Brian Mohika, will handle our evening sessions at Sukkot 2025. Our theme this is year is “If anyone is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.” Yeshua, truly, is the only drink that can satisfy our thirst. And note, too, that for YH, it’s not only about the joy of having an outside voice as a “camp speaker.” For us, it’s also about supporting, loving, and developing long-term relationships with others who understand Yahweh’s Torah is vitally important for those who seek to make Yeshua their all-in-all.

Biography

Brian Mohika is the Lead Pastor of Kingdom Voices Community Church in Lawrence, MA. He is a dedicated servant of Jesus Christ (YESHUA), who is the manifestation of YAHWEH in the flesh. Pastor Brian is known for his deep commitment to Scripture teaching and Torah observance. With a passion for teaching the Word in its original context, he leads his congregation with wisdom, humility, and reverence for the Hebrew and Greek Scriptures as one covenant. He is a graduate of Northpoint Bible College with a master’s degree in theology and Preaching and is currently enrolled at Liberty University for a Doctorate in Expository Preaching and Teaching. He emphasizes the importance of walking in obedience to the commandments as the method of obedience to show faith and belief in the salvation of his soul, fostering a faith that is rooted in truth, love, and covenant relationship. His ministry bridges traditional Christian teachings with Hebraic understanding, guiding others toward a deeper, more authentic walk with the Creator through the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit. KVCC is a teaching church that emphasizes not contradicting any Bible verse while studying the text to arrive at a sound understanding that brings excellence to Jesus Christ and His Kingdom of Heaven.

Answer: Bible, camp chairs, towels and wash clothes, toiletries, bug spray, clothes for a wide range of temperatures (it may be warm during the day and very cold at night), cups, plates, utensils, coffee mugs, water bottles, and supplies, shofar(s), musical instruments, games, notebook and writing utensils, flash light, extra shoes or boots and socks.
