What are the Terms of the YH Covenant?
Having covenanted with our fellowship to uphold our Statement of Faith; having understood that while you’ve fallen short of Yahweh’s glorious standard, you’ve also been redeemed by the blood of Yeshua; having understood you are saved by grace, through faith, and not because of any good work, and because it’s your sincere desire to love Yeshua with all your being; because you have covenanted with your brothers and sisters in Messiah to consistently learn about, and daily walk in the good works given to us by our Creator in His commandments, statutes, and judgments (Jn 14:15); and because you understand that your life is a testimony, and that your commitment to a local body of believers is important to that testimony (Heb 10:25); and because you’ve committed to:
Praying
Praying for and serving my brothers and sisters who call Yeshua’s House their primary fellowship
Listening
Listening (shema) to the elders, should the need arise, for any help I might need in more closely aligning myself with the instruction of my God
Reconciling
Going directly to anyone who’s hurt or offended me for the sole purpose of reconciliation – before making an offering or a sacrifice of praise
Trusting
To taking any complicated matter(s) to the elders for wise counsel
Speaking
Being careful with my words, concerning myself with orphans and widows, and keeping myself unstained by the world (Jas 1:27)
And because you’ve covenanted with us, you also understand that should you see anything in our fellowship that seems contrary to the Kingdom, you will lovingly and discreetly bring what you see to the elders. And, should you ever feel called to move (geographically) or take part in another fellowship, you will make that known to an elder(s) so they might pray for and bless you as you follow the Spirit’s leading in your life.
Today, you have made a declaration of joy! You are not trapped, but rather voluntarily submitting yourself to others out of reverence to Messiah Yeshua. To this end, you have committed to keeping in step with the Spirit, bearing its fruit (Gal 5:22, 23), all while heralding and living a life characterized by faith, hope, and love (1 Cor 13:13).
