YESHUA'S HOUSE

I'm New

Yes, we're different.

Following Jesus is the best decision a person could ever make. But what does "following" mean? At YH, we believe the Bible tells us. For the to-do list, that’s mostly found in the Torah part of the Bible (the first five books). And for what it looks like, done right, that’s in the Gospels. With Jesus in his purview, John writes, “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth” (Jn 1:14).

To fully realize our goal at YH (to be a church filled with genuine Yeshua followers), it takes a little learning, and a lot of unlearning. For the learning, we incorporate Hebrew, rely heavily on the Torah of our God (i.e., God's instruction or "laws"), all while emphasizing the importance of the Spirit and a circumcised heart. For the unlearning, we teach our people how to both identify and walk away from what are essentially pagan practices. No, none of it is comfortable. But believe us when we tell you – it’s worth it!

What to Expect

At YH, there's a vibe. Because we take God's instruction seriously, we'll often talk about God's commandments. Because we take the Bible seriously, we'll sometimes use a little Hebrew to get at the deeper meaning. Because the sabbath day is all day, and because many people drive significant distances to gather with us, we have activities all day long. Come to as much or as little as you like.

Now for the practicalities. The dress is conservative, but chill. Our kiddos stay with us in the Main Gathering for the first 30 minutes or so, then they're released to our children's and young adult programs. And yes, all of our teachers and helpers have passed a background check. We don't put people on the spot. We don't even ask for an offering. Instead, we teach giving as it comes up in the Bible. In all, we're a bunch of former mainstream church people who have opted for a simpler and more relational way of doing church. We even break up the message for open mic times, to discuss what we're studying.

If all that sounds appealing to you, and if it's your sincere desire to know and walk with the God who made you, Yeshua's House might be the place.
